Creative, Thoughtful, Energised

Our brand is composed of six students from three different colleges of UAL (CCW, CSM, and Chelsea).

We are a creative, young, accessible, and adventurous team, aiming to solve the problem of non-environmental friendliness of London office chairs in a more convenient and efficiency way.

Through this website, we hope that users can proactively choose how to recycle/repair their chairs through a simple and user-friendly pages, making this an accessible service rather than a technical barrier.

As the bridge between different businesses, our goal is to make the repair and recycling of chairs as a circular service through communication with multiple parties, which increases the product life cycle and thereby reduces environmental waste. Thus, the interface itself also becomes a circular design tool.

London is a huge business hub, and business comes with offices. Offices come with staff. And the staff need chairs. But not all chairs are wanted; some break, and some are sent to the landfill. Actually, 1.8 million office chairs get sent to landfill every year in the UK, and London, being such a big capital, contributes a lot to this number. We've created a system that targets this by creating a way for larger companies to get rid of unwanted and broken office chairs, by connecting start-ups and those looking to buy a chair.

Our role:

The Caregiver: A service and system to bridge between connecting parties.

The Explorer: Giving people freedom, those who don't want their chairs anymore can get rid of them without the guilt.

Event

We hold an artist collaboration event once a month.

We will find some chairs among those that need to be recycled. Those chairs can be reused as raw materials for artistic creation.

Then we will provide these chairs to the artists, allowing them to create art on them freely. When we have collected enough works, we can hold a small exhibition. Meanwhile, we will publicly sell these works on our online platform, and 80% of the profits will go to the artists.

We hope to be environmentally friendly while also establishing a connection with art.

Story of our logo

Handmade style linking back the the model of refurbishing, things not being perfect, but being perfect for their use at the new business.

The stretched lettering was inspired by the idea that we can stretch the lifecycle of the chair. It's hand cut style creates a more unique and informal and down to earth feel that the other more corporate brands are missing.

Using the sticker outline, it's inspired by protest stickers, they could be 'stuck' onto the poster and marketing comms to again link back the environmental notion of making change and action.

The seat icon was inspired by the 'A' in seat, a new start for the chair, a new purpose, a new office...
